Safety
Capsize Recovery
Learn the skills to safely exit and re-enter your kayak if you capsize, and build confidence on the water. Clients who complete this clinic are eligible for extended rental times.
In this clinic you will learn:
- How to safely exit & re-enter your sea kayak in the event your boat should capsize.
- How to use your safety equipment to re-enter your kayak.

Kayak Rolling
We break the roll down into simple steps so you can build confidence as you go. We recommend taking a capsize recovery course and learning basic paddle strokes before booking this lesson.
In this lesson you will learn:
- The foundations of an efficient and reliable kayak roll
- How to use the hip snap to drive the kayak upright
- Proper paddle sweep and blade angle for maximum support
- How head position and body timing affect the roll
- Brace-supported rolling progressions to build confidence underwater
