Bud founded Sealegs Kayaking in Ladysmith after years spent kayaking around the Haida Gwaii Islands, bringing a background in commercial diving and forestry management. Paired with Sheryll’s experience in recreation and education, it was the perfect foundation for the business.
For over 30 years, the family has operated from Transfer Beach, taking advantage of Ladysmith Harbour’s calm waters, abundant wildlife, and proximity to the Gulf Islands to offer sea kayak tours, lessons, clinics and rentals.
Senior guides maintain Sea Kayak Guide Alliance of BC certification and use top-of-the-line, consistently maintained equipment. Staff assist with boat entry/exit and paddling instruction throughout.
